چکیده

This paper investigates the effect of rotor flux screens (conducting screens) on performance switched reluctance motors with a higher number poles than stator poles. A high decreases torque ripple, which is desirable for electric vehicle applications. The conducting fill interpolar gaps forming cylindrical hence alleviating windage losses, especially effective at speeds. screen thickness and material electrical conductivity current rise time, developed torque, output power studied. procedure calculating value unaligned inductance screened using tube method presented. Finite element analysis results different cases confirm effectiveness in improving capability, motors. Received: 11 January 2023 Accepted: 03 May Published: 30

A High Torque Density Axial Flux SRM with Modular Stator

A novel structure of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) is proposed. The proposed structure uses the benefits of the axial flux path, short flux path, segmental rotor, and flux reversal free stator motors all together to improve the torque density of the SRMs. The main geometrical, electrical and physical specifications are presented. In addition, some features of the proposed structure are comp...

Analysis and Comparison Study of Novel Stator-Segmented Switched Reluctance Motor

This paper presents analysis and comparative study of a novel high-torque three-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) with magnetically isolated stator segments. In the proposed SRM, each segment has a concentric winding located on the center body of it and two diametrically opposite windings which form the motor phase. There are four salient poles in the stator segment. Two of them share their...

Torque Ripple Reduction in Switched Reluctance Motors by Rotor Poles Shape and Excitation Pulse Width Modification

In this paper, at first, a 24/16 three-phase switched reluctance motor is designed, then the rotor poles shape tips corrected for reduction ripple of single-phase torque waveform. By doing this, the single-phase torque waveform has a flat surface and consequently, the single-phase torque ripple is reduced. Also, due to the commutation between the machine phases, the torque drops during this tim...

Stator Core Stator Winding in Slots Rotor

Induction machines are perhaps the most widely used of all electric motors. They are generally simple to build and rugged, offer reasonable asynchronous performance: a manageable torque-speed curve, stable operation under load, and generally satisfactory efficiency. Because they are so widely used, they are worth understanding. In addition to their current economic importance, induction motors ...

Nusselt Number Measurement of Air Flow between Grooved Rotor and Stator of a Generator

In this article, turbulent flow heat transfer in the air gap between rotor and stator of a generator under nonhomogeneous heat flux is studied experimentally. The rotor consists of four symmetrical triangular grooves. The stator surface is smooth and does not include any grooves. The relative heat flux between the rotor and the stator is 1 to 3. Temperature and heat flux are measured locally at...
